Option 1 – measure an existing jacket

Take a jacket that you already own and that fits you well. Close the zip and buttons, lay it flat and measure:

• chest width from underarm point to underarm point
• hip width from side seam to side seam at hip level (widest point)
• sleeve length from the collar base to sleeve hem 
• back length straight down from centre of neckline to hem (without collar)

Wearing the clothing you would expect to wear under the jacket, hold the measuring tape loosely against your body. Our tip: if you do not have a measuring tape, you can use a piece of string and measure the length afterwards against a ruler.

• chest – relax your arms, measure at the widest part of your breast around your body
• hips – measure at the widest point of your hips and bottom around your body
• arm – from the base of your neck, where T-shirt starts, measure over the top of your shoulder to the elbow and continue to your wrist
